Man I remember a while back on this one message board a ninja said Wyclef's garbage ass album preacher son was better than black album...but yeah this track is dope and personally 'Black album' to me is Jay-z second best album...after RD.

Cut off of Slakah the Beatchild- Soul Movement vol.1, good, mellow, jazzy shit, I usually go through periods where i can't stand to hear one more "soft" beat...Kinda like the last Foreign Exchange album, that album was mass heap of sappy garbage. but this yeah this is good if you can pick this up please do. Not to mention he has a track with Shad, a fav around this parts..the track(Now a daze) was in Shads album though.

Salute to Orlando magic for stomping on Celtics in their own court(none of that Garden shiet there can only be one Madison Square Garden), though I had little faith with them holding on to leads and props to Master of panic proving shaq wrong....Conference finals should be interesting Nuggets vs LA , I don't see the nuggets having the discipline to pull it off, though they should. Cavs vs Orlando...will not be surprised if Orlando gives the Cavs fits, this one of those match-up problems.

Star trek was an excellent film, they did a great job bridging the gap between the geeks and the regular people...on to Terminator Salvation this weekend.

Getting back into the gym recently, hoop and working out, I had not gotten the memo that my ass is old...aching back and knees withstanding...glad I joined though.

Picked up Juliani, from a pal. Its a good album, has several skippable tracks but overall strong solid effort, some times his halting flow throws me off though...other than that I'm also waiting to hear Machanjamaa from Abbas and the Kalamashaka release, the marketing in K.E. must be different because these ninjas have upwards of four singles floating around....and no album yet ....

So i picked this album up, its an ehh album for me just straight up in the middle. Not to high not to low. The production is a gripe for me, but its to be expected that its a not typical hip hop album which a good thing I guess. I liked the fact he used some samples from the Ethiopquies , so i liked that part.

There is enough top 40 material here, 'bang bang' feat maroon 5 front man is MTV material, that enough will most likely help K'naan blow and bring in new fans, that does not mean it commercial or anything just that its a very welcoming and the beats are friendly, at least that's how i see it. Anyway enough about that. 'America' for me is the standout track , although Mos def's verse is ehh (i keep hoping for 'black on both sides' Mos), i liked the track though, my fav track. I also liked 'Fire in Freetown' and '15 minutes away'(attached).

Overall you should pick it up, very relatable material .

So I saw slumdog milionare before all the awards hype and such, its a good movie but hot damn the fellatio is movie is receiving, City of God was iller and much better than this glorified love story, gotta be the subtitles and unknown director that gave city of god a bad rap.

March 6th, I'm watching this, I liked the fact the director stayed true to the book, which was excellent by the way.

How is it T.I. and Luda had vastly better albums than Common and Ye'? In 2008 I mean its like I'm in bizzaro world, common decided to drop that spacey shiet it makes Elelctric Circus look like classic... and Ye' don't even get me started on this fool? Auto tune? quick when is the last time kanye was in song featured or otherwise and his voice was not altered or distorted?

Hip hop is really weird it is such faddy-ish genre it not funny at least that's what i see with the mainstream (relax this not one of those underground > Mainstream, this is not 99' I like my music balanced). So as I was saying, I liked T.I's album Paper Trail, but the replay value is atrocious after several weeks it just became lifeless to me but nonetheless a solid album. Now Theatre of The Mind is one of the better albums this year. Its appeals to my east coast sensibilities while not losing the Southern appeal. A Dj Preme, luda connection was one of those pleasant surprises and 'MVP' was really dope I liked it... 'I do it for hip hop' is another nice, but how did Hov let himself outshined like that? his verse was basura, this is one of those rare mixes that you would hope all the verses were top notch, but ehh.

Another standout is 'Undisputed', with slick talking mayweather...dope track. The best track IMO Do the right thing which samples Arthur Verocai's track, That Self-titled album is one of my fav albums, ....aside* in the summer of 2004 I picked it up online I was in my discovering samba/bossa nova phase, everyday through winter I bumped to this album. Bossa nova is the perfect Sunday morning music..wake up pull the blinds let the sun in, have breakfast in bed...nice /aside. So this luda song is really dope first for the sentiment, then the beat and finally the emcees.

I gotta show love for that Q-tip album, It impressed me and II bump to it on the reglar. Truthfully I'm not to keen on older cats putting out albums int he current market just feel it tarnishes their legacy especially if they have had long periods of time being inactive. But this Q-tip album is quite alright its a personal favorite. My fave track Life is better Featuring Norah Jones, I like how he gives more than a hook...I have overplayed that track, lol. Aside for one track the whole album is dope, pick it up if you can.

It seems like movies have slowed down, considering the pace summer releases set. Max Payne was basura the pg-13 made it worse, X-files same thing I fell asleep trying to watch it. Transporter 3 was garbage, the plot was atrocious, the action was pedestrian as well just kill that franchise already. I haven't seen the Punisher yet, though i know what I'm getting with that. Slumdog Milionare on the other hand I cannot wait to see, the previews look really good.

White Van music- Jake One

This has been in my rotation for minute pick it up if you can, dope mix of underground and mainstream music, the beats bang too. Favorite cuts 'The truth' with freeway and brother ali...some tracks though were a waste of beats, especially keak da sneak, what a worthless rapper. Other than that its pretty good album.

So baseball is over...yess!! and basketball is here, but I probably will not get into it until football season is over. Speaking of football it seems like was not that way off in predicting how the Rams season would go, we have won a measly two games but we have got rid of the head coach its a great sign, seeing as the player seemed lethargic and just going through the motions. It was a nice feeling beating two teams from the Nfl's premier division back to back. I was wrong about the ravens by a little bit seeing as how they can only beat bottom feeders..beat a good squad first. Shocks so far this season, colts, the whole AFC west, The lions and cincy being 0-15 combined. maybe this is the season we see 0-16? fingers crossed.

I'm generally not too much into gadgets, but last week I picked up the G-1 and lets just say so far, the phone is really nice pictures online do not do it justice and the functionality so far works for me, maybe it will change. Features i like, the way the home screen window has three different panes, you can drop numbers as shortcuts into the home screen. The apps from the market place are really good, but I can't wait for the navigation app to drop. I like that it has a qwerty keyboard. I had thought the lack 3.5mm headphone jack would bother me but so far i haven't noticed that, the one thing that bothers me is lack apps kill program and the internal phone memory being to small...

The new Ubuntu Inteprid Ibex is out, if you are an Ubuntu fan like I am you should check it out. One thing i didn't like with the previous release is the way it kept dropping my wireless signal until i had to get another program(Wicd) to rectify it. Ibex and I will be bonding this weekend.

Its the final stretch and 'That one' looks good, that's all I would hope he would be in a position to win, he has ran an excellent campaign. In a few days we know who is the 44Th prez.

So I picked this up the other day, truth be told i was not a huge tech fan, but i recognized him as an artist who believed he could convey his message through his music. I mean music to me, especially if i have never heard of you has to be aesthetically pleasing first, and the first few tracks i heard from him i could not go past his flow and voice i thought it was too forced, but I eventually came around to it, and dude is aiight. With the latest offering i must say i dig it, the beat are hard, the flow is vicious, the message is wide and varied, i bet you rappers out here none of them are talking about gentrification, third world, republicans, aiming guns at politicians and with DJ green lantern executive producing I like the direction this album took. The collabo's mesh really well, whether its ChinoXL with his rapid fire flow, or crooked I who had the hugely successful hip hop weekly.

Nas latest offering is one word ...DOPE, excellent record except the mid beginning part with 'hero' and make the world go around. I did not like hero at all...people were hyping it on the N.I.G.G.E.R Tape...when i got to hear it i was disappointed, speaking of which how ill was that "N.I.G.G.E.R Tape" ?? That really set the template for this album 'Ghetto alert' was a banger, the track with stic man (dead prez) was nice as well. Back to this album though. The intro itself set the table, strictly keys, no drums, no nothing just Nas... " hip hop was aborted/ so Nas breaths life to the embryo"... 'Sly fox' a shot to faux news is another favorite track..'fried chicken' surprised me, it is nice cut, project roach a simultaneous shot at NAACP, while at the same time speaking on the conditions of ghetto. I also like 'louis Farrakhan', Nas does well in third person speak. On 'testify'....this quote from a review my boy did breaks it down well "'Testify' is a genuine lamentation straight from Nas' heart. He raps about the paradigm of being a successful hip hop artists knowing that over 70% of all hip hop record & concert sales are to "little rap fans that live out in safe suburbia" who don't really identify with his 'struggle'. "....dope!. A Cop worthy album in the midst of the ringtone era.

'The Blue God', by my personal fav Martina Topley-bird (she has a delicate, soothing voice) is an incredible record, a follow-up to 'Quixotic' from 2003. (Stephen Marley sampled 'sandpaper kisses' for 'you are gonna leave'). Danger mouse of the gnarls Barkley fame did most of the production work and I can only say i was impressed. Carnies the first single is a nice cut..., baby blue is another fav, 'Poison' is my joint now...its they type of album that you would have to listen more than once to get into it, i brushed it of but sat down later on and enjoyed it immensely. Now it stays on heavy rotation. samples in the myspace link...

My blogging is become more erratic by the minute, nah thats not the word i think less and less..hmmm. Either way, some few things I wish to ramble about, I happened to watch 10000 BC, ....Garbage rolled into crapola, sprinkled with an overall lameness. The movie is made by the same guy that did Independence day so you already know the dialogue is shit... If i say the plot leaves a lot to be desired I would be very generous. How in the hell this cat gonna have Maasai looking dude knowing the language of 4 different peoples, not including his, the "heros tribe( of which you are like what tribe are they eskimos? cavemen?) and the attackers whom by the way the only contact they had was during the raids?? ? not including his, throw in the blind guy language in too and english?? . Why is the lead actors tribe, speaking English with an accent? a cross between trying to sound like african hollywood accent and some other nonsense. were in existence gazelles around the time period mammoths were? and the ten feet hens? really? movie making has never been this worse and this from a person who has seen a few uwe boll movies.

How are they in one area a dense forestland with 10 feet grass, a few more times its winter, then the savanna and then the desert cot damn, how far did they walk??? smh at killing two elephants with toothpicks twice....this hands down Thee worst movie I have ever seen...no redeeming qualities, fun? NO, epic? NO, fantasy? NO, unintentional comedy? no...not even one memorable scene.. Just an episode of horrible CGI...crap, do you self a favor only get this if you want to watch how bad it is...trust this is not one of those subjective type movies...it isn't

and ...have I mentioned how a person rises from the dead thru osmosis that has traveled the same distance this cats traveled, only with fraction of the time taken? I can only imagine my ire if I had paid for this shit..

I also watched Ironman= excellent, nuff said. Forbidden kingdom, thumbs down underwhelming considering jet li and Jackie chan were in it. Redbelt was nice till the final few minutes, the ending was disappointing it left with too many questions. War inc, another disappointment the trailer made it better than it was.

The finals have been aiight the squad i'm rooting for LA Lakers hasn't played well but had chances to win both games...the second game showed just how bad officiating is, and you boston fans can expect the same treatment tonight, yup they ain't calling those two fouls on Kobe in LA guarantee it. It is a ridiculous thing that teams get away with getting those close calls their way, by virtue of being home. So game 3 tonight let go LA.

Oh and heads need to listen this here track( Motown 25)- elzhi featuring Royce 5'9, talk about rhyming your ass off...Dope. Royce just goes off!!!

So, the crew that set it off, is about to drop an album -Jamhuri Day, I got myself a promo track in addition to the track I heard( from minute 25) on this African hiphop radio show in Holland....and it is dope, dope.... dope, I feel I should temper it, because on one hand its not like they doing anything out of this world, new or revolutionizing their sound but nah if I'm bumping to this and I'm furiously nodding my head, and enjoying this..then thats dope to me...so about the tracks..

The first one Featuring Yvonne with chiz'n brain on the boards...Kama kills it, he sets it of lovely that was ill...since 'constantly kwenye kona' ...his flow is a bit faster these days, but i mess with that, they do better job sandwiching roba, he has been lack luster for the last few tracks i have heard, but the star? Vigeti aka Representative wa mangandula ....obliterates it " hardcore kutoka vidole za mguu mpaka utosi" ...Filthy. roll na wakamba unaelewa vile navyosema?/ yaani ndumba haarifu...

'Wanabonga tu' is another excellent produced track..crap I went overboard describing the first track...but this is an excellent track look out for it on bnts namba 11.

I think personally Vigeti is a sick emcee, the sickest emcee in KE period (I mean this all said knowing i have never heard how he would hold down an album by himself which that in itself is disappointing ..but ehhh), but ninja kills each and every track he is in i can't say i have heard a weak verse...

The playoffs started with bang, but it seems like they are fizzling out, off the jump I don't care for Boston... but I can say objectively they are incredibly overrated team, none of the leaders of that squad went anywhere further than Conference championship, that says a lot about them..., they had the best record in the L, but they were pushed to 7 games by an 8th seed that did not even post a .500 record, and cannot even win on the road??? disgusting... perhaps they close out the series today....perhaps, but bron is not about to let that happen, so will see about that tonight. The spurs are a whiney, hacking ass squad...cot damn Duncan has never committed a foul ever, and horry is goon, disgust....am surprised bruce lui kang bowen has been quiet, the head gooon himself, even role players act like they haven't fouled anyone...The hornets are doing a good job, but if they don't have David west then its wrap come Monday...Oh and CP3 is an excellent point guard. So ..i'm chillin, Bumping to Tabu Ley Rochereau...cot damn this record is fresh, I can't believe, well, wait i used to sneer, when my dad would play this in his hifi system * quick aside..this lovely friend of mine calls it he fee ..instead of high fie...it was hilarious the first time i heard it*, but its all love..back to tabu ley , Franco and em'...Dad used to have tons of these records and we would always sneer/groan when he tried to bless us young'ns with the freshness, now i can't believe how good it sounds... the guitars, the drums and the occasional trumpets on likala ya moto.... of course some of that world class vodka (Tito's..i'm sipping on makes it all a lovely experience ...not to mention the weather is just about right, the perfect amount of chill...ahh a good Saturday....

Its march madness al around, i can't believe the many breaks UCLA has gotten...the blatant foul against Texas A&M, and prior to that absolutely ridiculous call against Stanford a couple of weeks ago...then the call against Cal..disgusting. Finally we got to Bnts 10 and at the same time got to my hundredth post.....the star were/are aligned..I tell ya ha ha. Well its not that big of a deal to get to ten, but at the same time i had to keep at it, there was time i almost gave up, at the same time I figured ya know what the two or three people I can put on, will not hurt so I just decided to keep going.

Sadly one of my favorite shows came to end, scratch that ends on Monday (but a damn leak was making round on the intanets...gave in saw the leak, i mean i have been catching it on demand immediately they had it on there,

At first i was mad the way they took out Omar, then i came around to him getting killed by irritating ass Kenard, i mean a big shootout scene and either Chris, snoop or Omar dying woulda been too Hollywood, and that is not the wire, so i was cool with the way he went, harsh realty you live the way of the gun, you get got and disappear with absolutely not fuss ironic huh? considering ninja used to cause a ruckus every time. I got some measure of satisfaction when it was mike that got snoop, felt sad Dukie became the younger Bubbs, enjoyed that Gus got to the bottom of Templeton's worthless lying ass. How can i hate on Detective Kima's snitching ass, but respect Daniels integrity? Ain't it ironic that Marlo case woulda have crumbled because of lester yet he is reason why Marlo is no longer in the street? ..and fucking cheese what a back stabber. end of spoiler...

Salute to a great show, no qualms about the ending whatsoever.

I picked this up the other day, Shad (born Shadrach Kabango) - 'The Old Prince'. Rwandese cat born in KE but currently residing in Canada, dope ass album, dude can rhyme his ass off, the type that you have listen carefully not to miss the metaphors favorite track is "i don't like to", the second verse in this song is just nasty..., "the old prince still lives at home" is another dope song. Sample tracks from his website Shad. overall a dope album, i like it. peep the video of 'i don't like to'..nice.

Dope album, have been listening to this all weekend, dope dope, Erykah has consistently been ill to me, always something fresh....The track 'soldier' has been on repeat this whole morning...A definite cop for me tomorrow. Pick this up...you need it in your life!!

The honey video is dope as well, with use of covers from old school groups and singers very creative.

""Telephone" - last track of the album inspired by a story Dilla's mother told Badu. Evidently during his final days, Dilla would float in and out of coherence, having very real conversations with people no one else could see. One of these people, as Dilla told his mother, was ODB. Dirty was telling Dilla that when he gets to the other side not to get on the red bus, though it was inviting. The white bus would be the one to pick him up. Great, beautiful song. Lyric: "Telephone! It's Old Dirty. He wants to give you directions home." Only Badu could make ODB sound like a visionary guide through the afterlife. When people say funerals are celebrations of an individual's life (as they fight back tears and look anything but celebratory), this song makes you believe it. The track closes with the uplifting words "Celebrate tonight" repeated."
